The best sound reproduction starts with the musician. Next comes the equipment (both the instruments/amps, and the recording gear). I have heard plenty of musicians who can make a "cheap" instrument sound amazing! Good quality mics are important, but even more important is how they're used (especially placement and room acoustics). You have your own sound and style, and I will work my hardest to capture that sound the way you want. Here is some of the gear that I use to make that happen:

  • Shure KSM32 and KSM27 large diaphragm condenser mics
  • Shure Beta 58A vocal mic
  • Shure Beta 52A kick drum/bass mics (2)
  • Shure SM57 instument mics (3), with drum mounts
  • Audio-Technica ATM450 condenser mic
  • Other "live" vocal mics (SM58's, etc.)
  • MOTU 896-HD (Firewire Audio Interface)
  • Presonus Digimax LT 8-channel ADAT (interfaces to MOTU, for a total of 16 simultaneous input channels)
  • BBE Sonic Maximizer 882i
